South Bend – Doris H Ellis, 93, of Greenspring Manor Nursing Home died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday in Michiana Community Hospital. Mrs. Ellis was born July 13, 1899, in Hillsboro, Ind. She lived in the area since 1960, coming from Crawfordsville, Ind. On July 7, 1918, in Paris, Ill, she married Gerald C. Harrington. He died in 1936. In 1942 she married Homer Ellis. He died in 1955. Surviving are a daughter, June D. Nimtz of LaPorte; a son, John W. Harrington of South Bend; 7 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sister, Heleen Knapp of South Bend and Eva Farrimond of Indianapolis; and a brother, Lawrence Dwyer of Reno, Nev. A daughter and a son preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Mishawaka. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osecola. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. today in the funeral home. - kbz
